Jamie Marie Hannigan

BirthDay:

02 Sep 1984

BirthPlace:

New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA

Bio:

Jamie grew up in a small town in central New Jersey, with her younger brother, mother, father and grandmother. Her aunt whom she was very close with lived just around the block and the dinners she attended each Sunday at her Grandparent's house with her extended family are an example of the closeness and the love of family that Jamie holds to this day.

Her passion for performing was instilled at a very young age. Like most who were born to entertain, she started by putting on shows in her living room. Frequently, she could be found chatting around the house, reciting her favorite movie lines and commercial slogans. A unique mix of adventurous tomboy and frilly princess, she always wanted to keep busy and active. Though she was quiet and well behaved, she was not at all shy about the things she loved. Which included, dancing, singing, playing sports, going on family vacations, waiting in anticipation of the ice cream truck, playing with her brother, wearing bright neon colored outfits (most likely a welcome change from wearing school uniforms for 13 years), and always being around friends and family and creating a party.

After attending a local dance studio as a youngster, Jamie further developed her love for performance art. She broadened her horizons, training with industry elite and began student teaching. Then, just after graduating high school, she began her own performing arts company, Cabaret Kids. She wrote, choreographed, and directed original musical productions for hundreds of local young performers, while attending a local college as a dance major. At 21 years of age, she became a business owner, founding Stage Stars, a performing & creative arts company, whose mission is to create and nurture well-rounded, professional performers. Then and now, Jamie instills in her performers the importance of using their talents to make a difference in the world.

Years later, Stage Stars blossomed into a tour de force in the performing and creative arts world. Stage Stars has offered classes and workshops for all ages and skill levels in every discipline of the performing and creative arts imaginable. They also create and produce many productions that range from musicals, plays, flash mobs, concerts, short films, music videos, artist showcases and more. Stage Stars prides themselves on offering many unique performance opportunities and jobs for those who are looking to foster their creativity while giving back to the community. Stage Stars has raised awareness for and donated to countless charities over the years (some of which can be seen in the links section on this site) They have appeared on many major television networks, performed at numerous well-known venues throughout the tri-state area and beyond, and continue to work along side entertainment industry professionals.

She has since been blessed to share the stage with legendary artists like Alicia Keys, Michelle Branch, JaRule, N.E.R.D., The Backstreet Boys, Mandy Moore, Deborah Harry (Blondie), Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith Band), Tom Bowes (Tower of Power), and many others.

Theater credits consist of You're A Good Man Charlie Brown (Sally), Blood Brothers (Linda), Footloose (Choreographer/Dancer), Little Shop Of Horrors (Audrey) Jamie also produced, directed, choreographed, and played Columbia in an acclaimed Off-Broadway run of The Rocky Horror Show and has continued the tradition since then with various performances that span the NY area and beyond. Her dream is to cast a stage show with everyone she has ever worked with in his or her roles of a lifetime.

Film credits include David Chase's film Not Fade Away, the original Step Up movie, where she was chosen among of thousands of video audition applicants to be featured at the end of the film. Jamie also appeared in major Bollywood motion pictures Janeman and Taara Rum Pum.

(where she worked closely with James VanDeerbeek of Dawson's Creek) and various episodes of Law & Order S.V.U. Jamie appeared in a national commercial for Master Card and had a feature role on the Discovery Channel's hit series, Hunted By The Mob. Hannigan worked with Cyndi Lauper on a national PSA and also appeared on her reality TV series, So Unusual.

Jamie danced live in Michael Jackson's official This Is It DVD release event, dancing The Drill with Michael's dancers and working closely with superstar director, Kenny Ortega and choreographer, Travis Payne. Jamie performed with Peter Yarrow (Peter Paul & Mary) in a benefit concert to repair the Jersey Shore, as well as adding her casting expertise to a PSA for The Trevor Project, a charitable organization providing crisis prevention to LGBTQ youth.

She continues to work alongside world-renown singers/song-writers like Glen Burtnik (Styx) and Debby Holiday (daughter of Jimmy Holiday 'Put A Little Love In Your Heart') as their choreographer and dancer in countless stage productions. She also choreographed and performed in New York City's World Famous NY Couture Fashion Week. She is proud to work with local fierce female vocalists like Christine Martucci, Lisa Bouchelle and Layonne Holmes who share her enthusiasm for girl power.
