Karina Friend Buck

Karina Buck has been working in radio, television and film for over three decades, collecting a broad range of experience in both production and post. She began her career as a broadcast engineer in the Bay Area. Drawn to the art and craft of storytelling, Karina moved down to LA and took up editing at PBS affiliate KCET. She spent 5 years as a staff editor at Editel L.A where she gravitated towards the new field of "offline editing". There she became an early pioneer of the "Behind the Scenes" genre, editing many early film marketing featurettes including "Absence of Malice" and "The Breakfast Club." After a decade of staff jobs, she spent 5 seasons editing and associate producing a number of independent films and network dramas, including the music-driven NBC series, "Fame."

In 1990, Karina founded Genuine Buck Film, a boutique production company specializing in documenting "The Making of" the movies. Since then, she has been writing, producing, and editing innumerable behind-the-scenes documentaries, independent films, and broadcast specials.
