The Flash Has a Cameo in Suicide Squad?
Last weekend was a big one for DC Films and Warner Bros., as they certainly wowed the crowd with a look at their upcoming slate at Comic-Con. After faltering this past spring with the underwhelming release of Batman v Superman, the studios are attempting to redefined themselves with the next big installment in the DCEU, Suicide Squad. And while this super villain adventure boasts the largest ensemble yet seen in a superhero movie, it may have brought in another character fans weren't even expecting. Yes, after a few eagle eyed viewers studied the first trailer for Justice League, which dropped in Hall H, and the extended Suicide Squad trailer, it has been determined that Batman may not be the only hero putting in an appearance.
Suicide Squad features roughly half of Batman's iconic rogues gallery, and every character in the movie is said to have some type of history with the caped crusader. It is believed that he's responsible for most of them being locked away. Except for perhaps one individual. Judging from the new trailers released, it is being speculated that Ezra Miller's The Flash is responsible for getting Jai Courtney's Captain Boomerang off the streets.
A few weeks ago, a pestering rumor began making the rounds that Barry Allen would be spotted in Suicide Squad, even if his screen time was on par with his appearance in Batman V Superman, where he was seen for under a minute. Now it looks like the combo punch of the first Justice League trailer and the latest Suicide Squad trailer have proven this to be true, as pointed out by ComicBookMovie. The Justice League sneak peek is responsible for giving us a first look at Miller's Barry Allen in action. As you'll notice, every time he runs, he generates an incredible amount of energy that takes the form of blue lighting strikes.
These same streaks of lightning are witnessed in the final Suicide Squad trailer, which showcase Captain Boomerang attempting to rob a bank. And it is believed that he is being thwarted by The Flash in this scene. Both trailers contain the same Flash lightening effects. And this has led many to believe we're about to get a Flash cameo. It was announced early on that neither Wonder Woman nor Superman would show up in Suicide Squad. The film has been confirmed to take place after Batman V Superman. Here's the official synopsis for Suicide Squad, which is finally in theaters next month.
"It feels good to be bad... Assemble a team of the world's most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government's disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren't picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it's every man for himself?" Suicide Squad stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, with Raymond Olubawale as King Shark, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, Common as Monster T, and Adam Beach as Slipknot. Written and directed by David Ayer.
