Trolls Clip Has Anna Kendrick Covering Simon & Garfunkel
Earlier today, Comic-Con kicked off its Hall H madness with DreamWorks Animation and 20th Century Fox's panel for their upcoming animated Trolls movie. The studios released a new trailer just a few weeks ago, so instead of dropping yet another trailer at SDCC, they released a new clip, featuring Poppy (voiced by Anna Kendrick) starting to irritate Branch (Justin Timberlake). This scene also features a unique cover of the fitting tune "Sounds of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel.
The clip, which comes courtesy of DreamWorks' YouTube, features Branch trying to get some sleep, when he's constantly woken up by Poppy's singing. When Poppy tries to explain that singing helps her relax, Branch says that he doesn't sing and he likes silence. Apparently, Poppy thinks that's the perfect time to break into a unique rendition of Simon & Garfunkel's "Sounds of Silence," with the help of some colorful flowers, bugs and other jungle creatures. While it seems that Justin Timberlake's Branch may actually be moved by the song, we can see at the end of the clip that isn't exactly the case.
From the creators of Shrek comes the most smart, funny, irreverent animated comedy of the year, DreamWorks' Trolls. This holiday season, enter a colorful, wondrous world populated by hilariously unforgettable characters and discover the story of the overly optimistic Trolls, with a constant song on their lips, and the comedicly pessimistic Bergens, who are only happy when they have trolls in their stomach. DreamWorks' Trolls is a fresh, broad comedy filled with music, heart and hair-raising adventures.
In November of 2016, nothing can prepare you for our new Troll world. Featuring original music from Justin Timberlake, the film stars the voice talent of Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Russell Brand, James Corden, Kunal Nayyar, Ron Funches, Icona Pop, Gwen Stefani and many more. Shrek Forever After duo Mike Mitchell and Walt Dohrn co-directed Trolls, which is produced by Gina Shay.
The comedy adventure, based on the iconic dolls made popular in the 60s, will have some big competition when it hits theaters November 4. The animated movie will be going up against Marvel's highly-anticipated Doctor Strange, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Lionsgate's Hacksaw Ridge, starring Mel Gibson. Take a look at this new clip from Trolls, and stay tuned for more from this animated comedy.
