Power Rangers Unite in 5 Character Posters
Are you ready for the epic return of The Power Rangers? Lionsgate has just released a set of 5 new character posters that bring these ordinary high schoolers together to save the world. On the roll call are Jason, Trini, Billy, Kimberly, and Zack. And next year, they will face off against one of the greatest threats our world has ever seen. Along with the 5 new one-sheets, we also get an exciting banner that brings these guys together to fight the common cause, as they put aside their petty differences and learn to work as a team.
Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove, and the world, is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late. This first teaser poster does a nice job of conveying all that with limited resources. Though we're sure fans are more than a little excited to see these teens finally suit up.
Lionsgate, a leading global entertainment company, and Saban Brands, a strategic brand management company that acquires and builds global consumer brands, have partnered to develop and produce this original live action feature film based on the iconic Power Rangers property. This marks another step in Lionsgate's continued commitment to build a broad portfolio of branded properties and franchises with global appeal. Saban launched Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as a live action television series more than 20 years ago, and the series has been in continuous production ever since. It has subsequently grown into one of the world's most popular and recognizable brands, with toys, apparel, costumes, video games, DVD's, comic books and other merchandise.
The two companies noted that, with an extensive and extremely devoted worldwide fan base as well as a deep and detailed mythology, the Power Rangers are primed for the big screen. The new film franchise will re-envision the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a group of high school kids who are infused with unique and cool super powers but must harness and use those powers as a team if they have any hope of saving the world. Says Saban.
"Lionsgate is the perfect home for elevating our Power Rangers brand to the next level. They have the vision, marketing prowess and incredible track record in launching breakthrough hits from The Hunger Games to Twilight and Divergent. In partnership with the Lionsgate team, we're confident that we will capture the world of the Power Rangers and translate it into a unique and memorable motion picture phenomenon with a legacy all its own."It was widely announced last month that acclaimed actor Bryan Cranston has joined the movie as Zordon, serving as the defacto leader of The Power Rangers. He is joined by Elizabeth Banks as the main villain Rita Repusla. The Power Rangers are Becky G as Yellow Ranger Trini, Ludi Lin as Black Ranger Zack, Dacre Montgomery as Red Ranger Jason, Naomi Scott as Pink Ranger Kimberly, and RJ Cyler as Blue Ranger Billy. Expected to be one of 2017's biggest hits, The Power Rangers movie arrives March 2017. While we await the first big trailer, which could drop next week at Comic-Con, check out these teens from Angle Grove the come together for the first time, courtesy of IMP Awards.
